It was a dark and rainy Saturday night, the start of Saturday night activities. Dish Crew One decided to bring the festivities inside to the Allen Center. Everyone trickled in, all dressed in black and some with black paint covering their faces. It was time to start playing a game called “Flashlight Game.” No one knew what to expect from this game that almost no one had heard of. The excitement grew, as Peter was picking the good team and the bad team, and Kelly and Abby hid the parts of the flashlight.
There were three bad people: Will, Georgina, and Hank. These three tried to run around and tag everyone they could possibly find. There were three good people, Ali, Kevin and Adriane, and their duties were to free the people who were tagged by the bad team. The overall goal of this game, was to find the flashlight pieces and put it back together.
The game started with a ring of the bell. It was complete madness in the totally dark building. You could hear screams and shouts from the entire building. People were hiding in every nook and cranny they could find, hoping they wouldn’t be tagged by the bad team. Those who were brave would go on running excursions to hunt for the flashlight pieces. We all worked as a team, some guarding the good team, some waiting patiently for the pieces to fit them together, and some actually finding the pieces. As the game went on, the three bad guys got progressively more tired, and the good team finally prevailed after a hour.
It was a joyous time for all, as the flashlight was shinning around the room. The feeling of accomplishment was tremendous. The feeling was so immense, the only thing we could possibly do was have a dance party. We danced in the Allen Center, we danced in the rain, we danced until we were absolutely out of energy. It was a totally bodacious night.
