Sunday was a good day. It started (as always) with farm chores, and the extra half hour of sleep till 6:45 a.m. was well needed. We made the trek over to the farm in the dark, and went about our chores as usual, EXCEPT IT WAS KIERAN’S B-DAY. I let him have Lola’s empty teat with no argument … We got back to the cabin at about 8, and we all went back to sleep for a couple hours. We ate a delicious breakfast, and then it was off to what I had been waiting for all week. Mountain biking with Peter, Chewonki’s science teacher, at Camden Snow Bowl. We jammed out on the way to the mountain, counting the Ferrari’s of the leaf-peepers, and talking about the ride ahead. The ride was amazing, and we made it up and down the mountain twice before we had to call it quits. I even got a little science lesson half way up the mountain, about why deciduous trees grow below cliffs. We both stiffened up on the way back home, and I’m aching today, but it was 100% worth it. Leftovers have never tasted better.
