Story and photos by Natalie Gubbay and Sophie Warshaw
A lot has been going on here at Chewonki, so to help you keep updated we have dedicated this blog post to current events!
Kaitlyn & Marcus clean up the coffee and tea station for Friday work program. After further investigation, we discovered Kaitlyn is currently knitting a hat and Marcus is working on his first short film with help from Leon and Sophee. Above Kaitlyn is shown with every semester student’s drink of choice (come to Chewonki, we have farm milk! Apply today!)
Over at the farm Talia and Emily are working in the high tunnel where we keep our fabulous tomatoes. The other day during work program we were able to harvest the rest of all our tomatoes, so today we are cleaning it out. Tomatoes are featured in most Chewonki meals.
We are also excited to welcome six new piglets to the Chewonki farm. Shown here are Big Sean and Sir Wellington. They are currently being socialized so they can learn to trust humans.
In the kitchen, Jane and our history teacher, Kristy, prepare granola bars to take on our upcoming wilderness trips!!
Semester students will embark on either a hiking, canoeing, sailing, or sea kayaking trip this Monday. #staytuned! Everyone is super excited and beginning to pack all they need.
Hope you enjoyed, and keep checking To The Point for more posts. See you after wilderness trips!
