KC Ford, Maine Coast Semester’s director of admissions and financial aid, and Nick McLeod, admissions assistant, keep things humming in their cozy little office in the Farmhouse on Chewonki Neck.
KC, who grew up in New England and worked for many years in the admissions office at Colby College, has a pronounced leaning toward dogs and snazzy socks. She is married to an artist, with whom she shares a deep appreciation for the beauty of Maine. KC enjoys traveling, which she does often to meet students and families at independent and public schools from coast to coast, but she is always happy to get back to the Pine Tree State.
Nick McLeod, a native of Wiscasset who graduated from Syracuse University, knows Chewonki from multiple perspectives: he’s an alumnus of Maine Coast Semester 40 and has previously helped teach the renewable energy activity at Camp Chewonki and worked on the summer facilities crew. He returned to Chewonki Neck last year, after serving as the residential life coordinator at the Ross School in East Hampton, N.Y., for two years.
KC and Nick are launching this monthly newsletter as one way to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening here and at Maine Coast Semester gatherings across the country.
Stay tuned to find out where we’ll be traveling this fall; we would love to meet you in a city near you. As always, we welcome prospective students and their families for a visit to campus. If you’re heading to midcoast Maine, give us a shout at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org!
