Hilary brings a strong background in production to Chewonki’s farm. As assistant farm manager, she is involved in all aspects of vegetable production, sustainable firewood harvest, and animal husbandry. She values practical skills, physical labor, and real world problem solving and believes these are best learned through doing hands-on, relevant work.
Shortly after graduating with a B.A. in biology at Wittenberg University, Hilary discovered her passion for farming and completed a series of apprenticeships and internships throughout New England. After gaining experience at a variety of farms, she served for three years as the CSA and greenhouse manager of a vegetable farm outside of Boston before making her way north to Maine and Chewonki.
