Liz earned Master’s Degrees in Forestry and Environmental Management from Duke University’s School of the Environment in 2000. She worked as the Stewardship Manager at the Forest Society of Maine, a statewide land trust based in Bangor. In 2012, she earned a second Master’s degree in Math and Science Education from the University of Maine, and taught math and ecology in Maine public high schools before joining the Chewonki faculty.
Liz is thrilled to be returning to Chewonki 27 years after attending Maine Coast Semester in its inaugural year. Since then, she has travelled the world and called many places home, but has settled in coastal Maine because of a love for its woods, waters, and people.
